Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Location: Peace River, AB
The Quality Control Technician collects/prepares samples and performs laboratory tests to ensure our material continually meets or exceeds our high-quality standards. This position requires work in outside weather conditions.
Dollars & Cents:
$2,500.00 SIGNING BONUS
Starting hourly wage is $25/ hour with ability for advancement

What You’ll Be Doing:
Collect product samples from various areas of the production process.
Conduct quality tests ensuring attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Understand and apply all normal laboratory calculations for the product being developed.
Understand and apply industry quality standards. Follow the Company’s laboratory best practices and standards.
Understand the plant process, monitor quality samples, and analyze information. Use reason to address issues and problems. Summarize and communicate findings with appropriate staff.
Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Document results clearly and thoroughly along with proper record keeping for daily production and inspections.
Maintain laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions.
Observe and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations and to identify malfunctions.
Perform plant inspections, within scope, and report issues to plant operator and/or shift supervisor.
Assist operations with other tasks, when required.
Cross-train in other positions as needed.
Promote a positive company image during the course and scope of the performance of these duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Must have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Intermediate data entry skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply written procedures.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well individually and on a team.

Relevant work experience in QA/QC
A technical aptitude and willingness to learn
