Job Description - Quality Control Technician (Entry Level Role - Peace River, AB)

Job Title: Quality Control Technician


Location: Peace River, AB


 


The Quality Control Technician collects/prepares samples and performs laboratory tests to ensure our material continually meets or exceeds our high-quality standards. This position requires work in outside weather conditions.


 


Dollars & Cents:



  • $2,500.00 SIGNING BONUS

  • Starting hourly wage is $25/ hour with ability for advancement

     What You’ll Be Doing:



    • Collect product samples from various areas of the production process.

    • Conduct quality tests ensuring attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

    • Understand and apply all normal laboratory calculations for the product being developed.

    • Understand and apply industry quality standards. Follow the Company’s laboratory best practices and standards.

    • Understand the plant process, monitor quality samples, and analyze information. Use reason to address issues and problems. Summarize and communicate findings with appropriate staff.

    • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

    • Document results clearly and thoroughly along with proper record keeping for daily production and inspections.

    • Maintain laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions.

    • Observe and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations and to identify malfunctions.

    • Perform plant inspections, within scope, and report issues to plant operator and/or shift supervisor.

    • Assist operations with other tasks, when required.

    • Cross-train in other positions as needed.

    • Promote a positive company image during the course and scope of the performance of these duties.

    • Other duties as assigned.


    Who We’re Looking For:



    • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

    • Must have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

    • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

    • Intermediate data entry skills.

    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

    • Ability to read, interpret, and apply written procedures.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Ability to multitask.

    • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well individually and on a team.

    We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:



    • Relevant work experience in QA/QC

    • A technical aptitude and willingness to learn

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different personalities
