About Us
The Skilled Trades Employment Program (STEP) is BC's leading construction job-matching program, delivered by the BC Construction Association (BCCA). With a team of 11 Regional Employment Placement Specialists (REPS) across 8 regional offices, STEP connects skilled trades employers with job-ready candidates and helps individuals who are under-represented in the trades access apprenticeship opportunities.

In this dynamic, community-focused role, you’ll support individuals pursuing careers in the skilled trades by helping them become job ready and connecting them to apprenticeship opportunities.
You’ll also build relationships with employers, trades training providers, and local organizations to match job-ready candidates to opportunities in the construction sector. While you’ll work independently in your region, you’ll be supported by a collaborative and experienced provincial team.
What You’ll be Doing
· Developing strong connections with local employers, educators, and service providers
· Promoting STEP through presentations, outreach, and community engagement
· Assessing job seekers for eligibility and helping them build tailored employment plans
· Coaching participants on soft skills, interview preparation, and workplace expectations
· Connecting candidates with meaningful trades employment

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle (travel is required)
· Bonus: Experience in the construction industry, skilled trades, employment services, and/or journeyperson certification
What We Offer

· 3 weeks of paid vacation to start
