Registered Nurse - Oakville Clinic

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical assessments, treatments, health education, and care coordination while supporting clients with a wide range of healthcare needs. This role is deal for an RN who is passionate about promoting wellness, delivering evidence-based care, and building strong relationships with clients and interdisciplinary team members. 

Acclaim Health announces the availability of (1) Regular Part Time Registered Nurse position to work in the Halton Region in all clinics with a focus on the Oakville Clinic. As a Regular Part Time employee, this position requires the individual to be available to work 2 shifts a week, as well as 1:3 weekends in addition to the statutory holiday rotation. There is also mandatory on-call rotation.

Pay per visit rate: 19.75 - 22.26 per client

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

· Provide nursing care to individuals in a clinic setting.

· Organizes the day, set priorities based on continuity of care, the type of care to be given and the client’s health needs.

· Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care outlining the strategies, orders and actions to achieve expected/desired outcomes.

· Assesses the health status of the client.

· Administers IV therapy including central line and peripheral line maintenance.

· Administers medications topically through natural body orifices, through tubes and by injections.

· Handles wound care, acute and chronic, for certain types and stages of wounds.

· Responsible for ensuring that the lap top is synchronized with the network at a minimum of twice a day, at the beginning and end of your shift, in order to receive information on and update client records.

· Attends team/POD meetings as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum 1 to 2 years clinical practice in a community environment preferred

· Current registration with the CNO

· Current CPR certificate

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills

· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

· Wound care (complex and non-complex), Negative pressure wound treatment skill, IV and pump skill, CVAD skill. Catheter care and maintenance skills preferred.
