The North Lambton Community Health Centre is a community governed health centre serving identified priority populations in a defined catchment area.  The Centre operates multiple sites in Ontario: Forest, Kettle & Stony Point, Watford, and Sarnia.  Our interdisciplinary team provides primary health care, health promotion and community development services.

The North Lambton Community Health Centre is currently seeking applicants for the following position:

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE

37.5 Hours/Week – Permanent

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) role requires a thorough knowledge of primary care nursing and the ability to function effectively in a team environment with physicians, allied health professionals and administrative staff. The RPN possesses and utilizes the knowledge, skill and judgement needed to function autonomously within the RPN scope of practice while collaborating with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes. The RPN role also require a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients and their families. The RPN maintains the smooth and efficient flow of patients through their appointments by receiving patients, assigning them to exam rooms, undertaking prescribed intake procedures, and assisting practitioners as requested. In addition, they help to maintain the efficiency of the clinic by ensuring an adequate supply of common medications, medical supplies and sterilized equipment is always on hand.

Qualifications:

• Registered Practical Nurse diploma/certificate from a recognized institution and additional relevant courses/training.


• Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and the RPNAO.


• 3-5 years’ experience working as a RPN in a community health setting or combination of community health and hospital or public health setting.


• Experience within the last 3-5 years with medication administration, phlebotomy and health assessments.


• Effective time management, decision making and organizational skills.


• Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications.


• Proficiency in French is considered as asset.

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The rate of pay for this position is $52,034 - $61,800 annually (based on a six-step grid). The rate will be based on experience and education. This is a permanent position that includes benefits and HOOPP. The incumbent will be required to work primarily at our Forest and Watford sites.
