Job Description - Regulations Enforcement Officer - City of Kelowna CCTV


Commissionaires BC is currently looking for an experienced security guard to join our onsite operations team working with the City of Kelowna!

As a Regulations Enforcement Officer (REO) with Commissionaires BC in Kelowna, you will be responsible as part of a team for maintaining the safety and security of City of Kelowna properties, facilities, and assets. This role involves patrolling assigned areas, monitoring security systems, securing buildings, enforcing Bylaws compliance, use of Mobile Surveillance, elements of outreach work, and responding to incidents and alarms to ensure a safe environment for employees, visitors, and the public.

This position also offers ample opportunity and experience to work alongside RCMP and Bylaw, which is invaluable to anyone looking to enter these fields.

Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri 1500 - 2300
Pay: $25.75/hr

Your Must-Haves:  

  • A valid BC Security License
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment
  • Previous experience monitoring multiple CCTV cameras simultaneously
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have proven time-management and organizational skills

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor CCTV cameras and fire/alarm systems and reporting any suspicious activity
  • Take incoming calls from the public, police and/or employees in a timely manner 
  • Maintaining a detailed log after the end of each shift
  • Producing ad hoc reports as required by various departments
  • Conducting follow-up reviews with clients to ensure client satisfaction  
  • Any other ad-hoc duties may be assigned to you in your role
