Rehabilitation Assistant

FIREFLY is seeking a regular full time Rehabilitation Assistant.  This role offers a meaningful opportunity to work alongside clinicians to help children and youth participate in therapy programs that support their development and well-being.

FIREFLY is a multi-service, non-profit organization committed to strengthening the health and well-being of children, youth, and families.  We provide community-based, mental health, and developmental services across Northwestern Ontario in partnership with families, schools, child care centres, and community organizations.

About the Role

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will work closely with clinicians to support therapy programming for preschool and school-aged children.  Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will:

• Assist clinicians in conducting discipline-specific screenings


• Support the delivery of therapy programs for children and youth


• Assist in the organization and delivery of summer therapy camps in Kenora, Dryden, and Sioux Lookout


• Provide program support, including informal documentation and report writing


• Prepare resources and promotional materials to support programming


• Perform other duties as required to support clinical services
  
  

This role requires flexibility, including travel across the service region and occasional evening and weekend work. 

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

• Diploma in Health Sciences or a related field


• Experience working with children who have a variety of developmental needs


• Knowledge of, or experience in, child development 


• Experience working with children and families/caregivers from diverse cultural backgrounds

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team


• Strong organizational and time management skills


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a dynamic environment
