Job Description - Engineers of Tomorrow (EoT) Chapter Communications Coordinator

Engineers of Tomorrow (EoT) is a non-profit organization that matches engineers with classrooms across Canada to teach youth about engineering. The EoT Queen's Chapter is the first ever university branch of the organization ratified under EngSoc, and we aim to propagate this initiative using outreach to teens and high school students!

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about changing the messages youth receive about engineering. You will be working alongside a team of like-minded individuals to initiate lesson plans, curate budgets, communicate with external organizations, and prepare undergraduate engineering volunteers for the next step in their personal and professional development. As an executive, you will also get the chance to work with EoT directly and other community initiators, and develop career competencies that are vital in your personal and professional life.

No experience is required for this position, but you should be able to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences!

Communications & Outreach Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Communicating between the executive and the volunteers, potential sponsors, and external groups/organizations/individuals.
  • Identifying gaps in any informational resources with regards to the chapter and its organization, and devising solutions to close these gaps.
  • Holding volunteers accountable for their assigned tasks by creating an annual task list and checking it periodically - sending out check-ins to the volunteers to ensure they have everything completed on time.
  • Developing resources to optimize communication within the executive, the chapter, and between external groups.
  • Being the main contact for all volunteers regarding everything except back-end operational procedures.

Applications close March 31st 2025 at 11:59pm, and interviews are scheduled for the evenings of April 1st and April 3rd. Happy applying!
