At Global Traffic Group (GTG), we’re driven by a clear purpose: creating safer roads and smarter, more connected communities. Through innovative traffic safety and enforcement technologies, we’re helping shape the infrastructure of the future—built on data, guided by safety, and strengthened through partnerships. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Equipment Technician who brings both technical expertise and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to support our operations.
About the Role
We are seeking an Equipment Technician who can independently support the installation, maintenance, and operation of traffic monitoring and enforcement systems across Saskatchewan. This is a hands-on, field-focused role responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, accuracy, and performance across Photo Speed Enforcement Zones (PSE).
This is not a supervisory position. It is suited for a self-directed technician who can troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize equipment with minimal oversight while contributing to operational excellence.
The successful candidate will take ownership of equipment performance in the field and support ongoing operations through technical expertise and proactive problem-solving.
What You’ll Do
Support Equipment Operations: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot enforcement systems while performing inspections, calibration, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Technical Execution & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues independently, maintain reports, and interpret technical documentation.
Data & Inventory Management: Manage zone data, documentation, and equipment inventory, and support procurement activities.
Project & Field Support: Assist with installations, support projects, and coordinate with teams to meet operational standards.
Collaboration & Service Work with internal teams, provide first-line technical support, and deliver strong service to stakeholders.
What You Bring
High school diploma; technical training in electronics or related field preferred
Experience installing, maintaining, or repairing electronic equipment is an asset
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
Proficiency with MS Office, Office 365, and SharePoint
Strong organizational and time management skills
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to work independently in field conditions
Additional Requirement:
Fall Protection Certification (or willingness to obtain)
PME certification (or willingness to obtain)
The Ideal Candidate: You’re a self-sufficient technician who takes pride in keeping systems running reliably. You’re detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working independently in the field while supporting broader operational goals.
Independent Operator: Comfortable working alone and managing field responsibilities end-to-end
Technical Problem Solver: Able to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently with minimal guidance
Detail-Oriented: Ensures accuracy in calibration, reporting, and compliance
Team Contributor: Communicates effectively and supports cross-functional collaboration
Reliable & Accountable: Takes ownership of equipment performance and service levels
