In this strategic role, you will lead governmental engagement and drive institutional partnerships to support the energy transition in Canada. Accountabilities
- Develop and drive a government relations program at the federal and provincial levels.
- Execute lobbying, advocacy, and issue management activities to enhance the company's position in the energy sector.
- Build and manage relationships with key external resources to increase program efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute value at an organizational level.
- Lead engagement with relevant trade, industry, and business associations.
- Support reconciliation efforts with Indigenous communities.
- Monitor and analyze public policy developments affecting business interests.
- Prepare strategic briefs and messaging for senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a related field.
- Proven success in developing and executing effective government relations and advocacy programs.
- Experience in tracking and influencing policy issues pertinent to corporate interests.
- Ability to manage relationships with third-party resources, such as consultants and industry associations.
- Fluency in both French and English for effective communication across various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Indigenous reconciliation initiatives.
- Experience in the energy sector or related areas is a plus.
