Apex Geomatics is seeking an experienced Line Locate Technician to join our operations, starting immediately. This role is based out of our headquarters in Sherwood Park, Alberta, with periodic travel to remote project sites as required.

Essential Responsibilities:
Perform precise line locating sweeps and inductive locates using industry-standard methodologies.
Accurately mark buried facilities in accordance with standard colour coding and field marking practices.
Prepare comprehensive field reports, including detailed sketches, notes, photographs, and supporting data.
Inspect, operate, and maintain locating equipment and company vehicles.
Actively participate in and comply with Apex Geomatics’ Health & Safety Program.
Adhere to established quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and on-the-job training to Junior Locators and Assistants.
Qualifications:
A Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Line Locating Technician.
Industrial plant facility experience is an asset.
Exceptional knowledge of line locating theory, methodology, and ground disturbance practices.
Ability to read and interpret CAD and GIS mapping and archived underground plans.
Familiarity and experience with Trimble GPS considered an asset.
Valid line locating training certificate must be endorsed by the Canadian Association of Pipeline and Utility Locating Contractors (CAPULC).
Must hold a valid certificate in an ABCGA Ground Disturbance Standard 201 (Supervisory level) training course.
Valid certifications in PCST, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid preferred.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.
