About NNPBC
Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of British Columbia (NNPBC) is the professional association representing all four nursing designations in BC – Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
NNPBC is home for nurses in BC, transforming health and health systems through the breadth of nursing expertise. NNPBC supports and promotes excellence in all domains of nursing practice and enables nurses to lead, influence, and transform health, the health care system, health and social policy, and the nursing profession itself.
NNPBC is committed to truth and reconciliation, guided by the Indigenous Cultural Safety, Cultural Humility, and Anti-Racism practice standards for nurses in BC. We actively advance the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, the recommendations from In Plain Sight, and the Calls to Action and Calls to Justice from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and MMIWG report. Our work is multigenerational, and we are dedicated to meaningful, ongoing reconciliation efforts. A personal and professional commitment to culturally safer practices, cultural humility, anti-racism, justice and equity is core to this role.
Role Summary
NNPBC, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, launched the Nursing Initiatives for Primary Care (NIPC) program in August 2024. Through this program, NNPBC supports nurses practicing in primary care settings across British Columbia.
The Manager, Nursing Network is responsible for establishing, nurturing, and expanding an online community dedicated to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) employed through the Nurse in Practice Program in Primary Care across British Columbia. The role operates at the intersection of strategic planning, systems transformation, and program delivery. It requires a leader who can hold a strategic, system-level vision while staying hands-on in execution; someone comfortable navigating ambiguity, building programs and infrastructure where none existed before, and translating the priorities of nurses, health system partners, and the Ministry of Health into a thriving, sustainable community of practice. Success draws on equal measures of entrepreneurial creativity, analytical rigour, and the relational skill to bring diverse partners together around a shared goal.
Leading a team, and working closely with the Manager, Nursing Practice Success, the Practice Success Team, the Clinical Nurse Specialist, and other partners, the Manager, Nursing Network ensures that RNs and LPNs working in primary care across BC feel connected, supported, and equipped to practice to their full scope, and that the Collaboratorium (online community) and the broader network continue to grow as a trusted space for peer connection, professional learning, and practice innovation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of primary care nursing in British Columbia by fostering excellence, innovation, and collaboration across communities and care teams.
