Position Overview
Engrity Inspection is seeking an experienced QC Inspector (CWB Level 2 or 3) for a long-term bridge structural steel fabrication inspection project in a fabrication shop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all fabrication activities comply with applicable codes, specifications, drawings, and quality requirements related to bridge and structural steel components.
This role requires a strong background in structural steel fabrication, welding inspection, and quality documentation, with a high level of attention to detail and safety awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality control inspections of bridge structural steel and stainless steel fabrication activities in a shop environment
Inspect welding operations in accordance with CSA W47.1 / W59, project specifications, and approved WPS/WPQ
Verify material traceability, heat numbers, MTRs, and compliance with project specifications
Review and interpret structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings
Conduct dimensional checks, fit-up inspections, and final visual inspections
Monitor fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, assembly, and surface preparation
Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and hold points
Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and follow up on corrective actions
Maintain accurate inspection records, daily reports, weld logs, and turnover documentation
Liaise with fabrication personnel, supervisors, engineers, and project stakeholders
Promote and enforce site safety requirements and safe work practices
Support continuous improvement in quality and inspection processes
Requirements & Qualifications
CWB Level 2 or Level 3 Certification – Required
Fabrication Shop Experience – Required
Structural Steel Experience – Mandatory
Experience with bridge structural steel fabrication inspection
Knowledge of stainless steel and piping inspections
Strong understanding of QA/QC systems and documentation
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings
Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Mandatory Safety Certifications

WHMIS
