We are a team of bold, tenacious, and pun-loving individuals dedicated to making drug discovery data accessible and actionable. We’ve been recognized as a Great Place to Work Canada and believe in working hard, celebrating wins, and supporting wellbeing.

The Role

As a Sales Administrator, you are the first point of contact for potential customers and play an integral role in supporting the sales organization. You will be at the forefront of guiding our top of funnel growth, helping us expand our reach with our ideal customer profile (ICP) (biopharma and biotech).

Reporting to our Senior Sales Development Coordinator (SDC), you will:

  • Lead our academic license review and approvals process, connecting with researchers to understand their use case, the impact DrugBank can have on their research, and the intended outcomes.

  • Build contact lists for our ICP through outbound efforts.

  • Assist with conference preparation including developing contact lists, customer profiles, target networks, and any communications documentation required.

  • Assist with event preparation such as scheduling coordination, packing and shipping event materials, working with printing companies to produce collateral, or similar.

  • Support our sales team (Account Executives and Account Managers) with their administrative work such as updating files and notes, customer risk status, and sending follow ups materials.

  • Learn and maintain a deep understanding of our intelligence OS, including our data foundations (drugs, diseases, targets, trials) and intelligence interface. Being an expert in our product offerings is integral to success in this role.

About You

  • You have a deep understanding of scientific knowledge, with a background in science and/or technical lab work.

  • You have a keen interest in growing your sales career.

  • You’re a quick learner who is naturally curious, always seeking to continuously improve.

  • You’re service-oriented, customer-driven, and focused on providing the best experience for our leads.

  • You’ve got high energy levels and are able to be resilient when doing challenging or monotonous work.

  • You thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and can "flex with ambiguity" as we scale and adapt to new information.

  • You’re self-directed, detail-oriented, and extremely organized, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a work-from-home setting..

  • You’re a strong communicator, both verbal and written.

  • You know how to take in complex information, and distill answers and next steps back effectively.

  • You’re not afraid to admit you don’t know the answer, and you know how to navigate systems to find out the right answer.

  • You are great at giving and receiving feedback.

  • You understand that you contribute to a larger process, and your team relies on your efforts to succeed.

Bonus Points

  • You’ve worked in a startup environment before.

  • You have familiarity with CRM software (HubSpot), Google Sheets, and Zoom.

  • You are actively involved in your local startup, sales, operations, or administrative support community - either through meetups, or networking.

  • You love a great dad joke, sharing your unique hobbies, and giving back to your community.
