The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a national non-profit organization working to create an environment where girls, women, and gender-diverse individuals in Canada can pursue their interests, education, and careers in STEM without barriers. We provide mentorship, leadership development, and outreach programs that encourage participation and excellence in STEM. Position Overview
SCWIST is a mission-driven organization dedicated to championing the next generation of diverse STEM leaders across Canada - particularly those historically underrepresented in STEM - to pursue their futures in STEM through transformative STEM learning opportunities, skills building, mentorship, and hands-on programming.
The STEM Education Specialist will play a vital role in preparing youth for these opportunities. The ideal candidate is a passionate STEM professional with a strong commitment to youth engagement and a proven ability to inspire, support, and guide young people as they navigate STEM pathways and prepare to drive innovation and economic growth in Canada.
We are seeking a passionate and innovative STEM Education Specialist to lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-impact STEM education and mentorship for youth across Canada. The ideal candidate is a creative educator with a strong background in STEM and demonstrated experience designing engaging learning experiences, agile and responsive mentorship skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusion in STEM.
Key Responsibilities
As you will be working with high school students across Canada, this position requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for virtual meetings. Some travel may be required as needed regionally or nationally.
