OVERALL DESCRIPTION:
The Repatriation Manager is a full-time permanent position. The Repatriation Manager directs all team functions, supervises and coordinates the efforts of staff to ensure their efforts culminate in meeting the service objectives of the repatriation unit and standards set by the Wabaseemoong Customary Care Code, Service Manuals and Delivery Model. The Repatriation Manager is a member of the Management Team.
DUTIES:
1. Program Delivery
1.1 Ensures the provision of relevant and competent service to all Wabaseemoong children, youth, and their families (on/off reserve) who either request or are determined to require WCWA services.
1.2 Ensure program services are delivered with excellence and conform to Wabaseemoong Child Welfare Authority’s Customary Care Code, Manuals and Service Delivery Model, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols.
1.3 Reviews and collaborates with WCWA service departments to process requests to have Wabaseemoong children in external foster care brought back to homes within the community or with biological family.
1.4 Provides liaison activity between WCWA and external agencies.
1.5 Provides advocacy on behalf of the child and family.
1.6 Implements and oversee best practices to children, youth, or families adopted by outside families to discover biological family and community history.
1.7 Assists in the research and information sharing for WCWA in repatriation services.
1.8 Develops and maintains an effective team process by scheduling regular team meetings; provides support to team members by advising, planning and coordinating service delivery.
1.9 Ensures supervisory approval for all major service delivery decisions, makes direct service delivery decisions on their own or in consultation with the Director of Services and/or Executive Director.
1.10 Provides regular, consistent supervision to team members and keeps comprehensive supervision notes on agreements made and tasks assigned for each team member for performance statistics.
1.11 Conducts and completes written performance evaluations for all team members and ensures staff who do a good job get appropriate recognition.
1.12 Participates in staff recruitment, orientation, supervision and training.
1.13 Recommends staff re-assignments, transfers, promotions, demotions, salary changes, position description changes, discipline, leaves of absence and terminations.
1.14 Discipline staff and consult with the Director of Service before taking any major disciplinary action.
1.15 Ensures accurate and timely completion of all required case documentation and recordings.
1.16 Signs case documentation and recordings indicating approval and ensures placement on master files.
1.17 Conducts periodic case reviews of all child and family files.
1.18 Ensures confidentiality of all case records and other relevant information.
1.19 Ensures coordination of services with internal and external resources.
1.20 Provides in-service training and consultation to team members regarding current knowledge on skills in repatriation.
1.21 Implements change to improve and promote effective administration.
1.22 Approves expenditure within limits set out in policy, including staff expense claims; authorizes and approves staff time off requests; and
1.23 Designates Acting Manager for the team during any period of absence.
1.24 Provides monthly and quarterly narrative and statistical summary reports to the Director of Services on repatriation programs, caseloads, services rendered, accomplishments, problems, and work plans to correct deficiencies and meet goals.
1.25 Assists in the preparation of the WCWA’s strategic planning.
