Research Assistant 2 - Schizophrenia Division Research

The Schizophrenia Division at Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) focuses on improving the understanding, treatment, and prevention of schizophrenia spectrum disorders through specialized clinical care, innovative research, and community education initiatives.

The Schizophrenia Division is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant 2 role to assist with multiple administrative tasks, Centralized Recruitment Model database management, knowledge translation material development and dissemination, participant recruitment, qualitative data coding and thematic analysis. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements, and encourages recovery-oriented care. This position is primarily located at 1051 Queen Street West with some travel required to 250 College Street.

The successful candidate must have completed a minimum of three years of Community College education in the social sciences or a related field, along with at least one year of research experience in mental health, preferably involving schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSDs). Previous experience with participant recruitment is required. The candidate should also have experience in knowledge translation and dissemination activities related to mental health research, preferably within the area of SSDs. Demonstrated experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, including literature reviews, data collection, and data management, is essential. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team. Proficiency in PC based software and research platforms is required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, REDCap, and internet search engines. Experience creating engaging knowledge translation and educational materials using Canva is also required.

The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and possess strong technical aptitude. They must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and be able to function effectively within a cooperative and collaborative work environment. The ability to work and learn independently while managing multiple concurrent projects is essential. Candidates must also be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those experiencing severe mental health challenges.

Salary Range: $26.80 - $33.05 per hour
