Job Description - Research Contracts Analyst

37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday; This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement, in accordance with HHS’ Remote Work Policy.


Research initiatives at Hamilton Health Sciences are committed to discovering revolutionary healthcare treatments and innovations to improve outcomes for the patients and community we serve.

 The Research & Innovation portfolio at Hamilton Health Sciences is responsible for providing research support services including finance, ethics, compliance, development and relations, innovation as well as contracts and grants. Together, these areas support over 1300 researchers and staff.

 A key pillar of this portfolio, the Research Contracts and Grants department provides central research support to the HHS research community by managing and mitigating risk through legal agreements, and identifying, reviewing and submitting research grants.


The Research Contracts Analyst is responsible for reviewing analyzing and processing a complex and diverse portfolio of research innovation, procurement and research finance related contracts. Reporting to the Manager, Research Contracts, this position is also responsible for maintaining  compliance with internal policies and external guidelines and serves as liaison to other departments, outside organizations, government agencies and industry sponsors.

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Science 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous research contract review experience required 
  • Familiarity with innovation focused research studies and the complex regulatory landscape in which they operate 
  • Experience with research service agreements and procurement processes and requirements 
  • Ability to thrive with ambiguity and exercise sound judgement 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently as well with a team in a high volume and diverse area 
  • Proven ability to prioritize, analyze, facilitate, negotiate and problem solve in challenging situations
