Job Description - Resident Manager, Property Management (Burnaby)

You will



  • Deliver an exemplary level of customer service be responding professionally and promptly to resident inquiries, greeting tenants, visitors and contractors

  • Lead the full life cycle of the resident process

  • Conduct property tours to prospective residents

  • Provide welcome or move out packages to residents, and conduct standard move in and move out inspections as required

  • Assist tenants with onboarding of building tenant portal

  • Complete daily inspections of The Standard and Nuvo’s common areas, building exterior and any amenities to ensure all are maintained to a high standard and move in and move out inspections as required

  • Conduct monthly inspections of all utility and storage rooms, and ensure cleanliness

  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual building reports through Yardi

  • Oversee elevator bookings and ensure security is maintained during moves

  • Follow up and collect monthly rents and maintain all tenant records

  • Deliver Tenant notices (ie late rent, eviction notices, building info, etc)

  • Manage building parking and storage rentals

  • Supervise the use of any amenity areas

  • Respond to and coordinate all tenant repairs

  • Answer the building phone line and resolve tenant concerns, and be on call for property emergencies

  • Maintain building contacts lists for tenants and contractors and assist in maintaining building maintenance files

  • Complete minor buildings repairs such as painting, basic plumbing and carpentry, minor electrical repairs, and assist janitorial duties as required

  • Program security fobs as required and ensure the property is safe and secure at all times

  • Ensure the Property Management Office is neat and tidy

  • Arrange resident events and activities in conjunction with the Property Manager

  • Ensure preventative maintenance is completed in conjunction with the Property Manager and supervise contractors/trades who are on site

  • Work with the condo strata team for the maintenance of floors residential units in the condo tower. 

  • Ensure building rules and regulations are followed

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the RTA, Fire Codes, WCB, OH&S

  • Attend staff meetings

  • Assist if needed at our other multi-family properties in the Metro Vancouver area. 

  • Provide weekly reports and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Property Manager 


You have 



  • Minimum of 3 years residential rental experience

  • Strong understanding of BC Residential Tenancy Act and its application

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to learn and the ability to work without direction – a self-starter

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel and experience with Yardi Rent Café is an asset.

The position is located onsite at The Standard and Nuvo.  




Salary Range


$53,000 - $56,000 per year, based on experience. This is a live-in Resident Manager position.
