MMI Group Inc. (operating as 'Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson') is a full-service commercial real estate firm in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that provides solutions in brokerage, property management, and advisory services.


 


We are looking for an experienced Leasing Agent to join our Residential team. If you are a detail-oriented professional leasing representative looking for a fun, hardworking and collaborative team that supports learning and continuous improvement, we want to meet you!


 


Summary:


The Leasing Agent for Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson is responsible for contacting prospective tenants, scheduling and coordinating viewings, renting individual suites, and maintaining required records. The successful candidate will be able to professionally present the features and benefits of our specific apartment communities and will be required to secure rental agreements from qualified persons. The Leasing Agent is the public face of our Residential Property Management team, and is the key liaison between head office and our current and prospective renters.



The Leasing Agent reports directly to the Vice President, Multi-Family Property Management.


 


Qualifications:



  • Valid class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle are mandatory.

  • High School Diploma, Certificate, or G.E.D. or equivalent.

  • 1+ years of proven working experience as a Leasing Agent and/or a proven track record of reaching sales goals.

  • Patience to understand client needs and company needs; ability to actively listen; ability to use positive language.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written, with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to be a mature and self-motivated team player with good conflict resolution and the intention to create positive working relations.

  • Committed to personal growth and integrity aligned with Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson's objectives.

  • Ability to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning.

  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly growing/changing environment with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Meet with prospective renters and take them on tours of units and buildings of interest.

  • Determine the needs, living standards and economic viability of prospective tenants.

  • Prepare applications in accordance with our property standards and regulations; send all applications to head office in a timely manner; follow up with prospective tenants to answer questions and concerns.

  • Collect background information on potential tenants in order to determine eligibility; confirm rental application data and personal references; inform successful/unsuccessful candidates of the status of their rental application.

  • Collect security deposits and rental payments.

  • Stay knowledgeable about the property portfolio and its market status.



Hours of Work:



  • This position is on a casual, on-call basis. Hours of work are not guaranteed and depend on business needs. Availability for call-in work, including short-notice assignments, is required.

  • Lease-Up Period Requirement:


    • Effective January 2026, the successful candidate will be required to work full-time hours (8 hours per day) during a lease-up period for a new residential property. The duration of this lease-up period is temporary, with the end date to be determined based on business needs. Following the completion of the lease-up period, the role will revert to a casual arrangement, with hours scheduled as required and no guarantee of ongoing or minimum weekly hours.
