In-House Painter

Ultimate Renovations is looking for an experienced In-House Painter to join our team.

With over four decades of experience delivering award-winning renovations throughout Calgary, we are looking for a skilled painter who takes pride in their workmanship, pays close attention to detail, and can consistently deliver a high-quality finished product.

As part of our in-house team, you will work across a variety of residential renovation projects, completing painting, preparation, touch-ups, deficiencies, and warranty work while working closely with our Project Managers, carpenters, designers, and other trades.

Responsibilities

As an In-House Painter, your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, patching, filling, caulking, and minor drywall repairs


• Prime and paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, casing, baseboards, and other surfaces


• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment where required


• Complete detailed cut lines and finish work to a high standard


• Match existing colours and finishes for repairs and touch-ups


• Complete touch-up painting throughout various stages of renovation projects


• Complete deficiency, warranty, and project closeout painting work


• Identify surface imperfections or preparation issues before painting


• Protect floors, cabinetry, furniture, fixtures, and completed finishes before starting work


• Install and maintain appropriate dust and site protection


• Coordinate with Project Managers and other trades to ensure areas are ready for painting


• Maintain clean and organized work areas


• Properly clean and maintain painting tools and equipment


• Assist with samples, colour matching, and finish testing when required


• Follow manufacturer specifications for primers, paints, coatings, and application methods


• Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements


• Represent Ultimate Renovations professionally when interacting with clients, trades, suppliers, and other team members

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3–5 years of professional painting experience


• Strong experience in residential construction or renovation


• Excellent surface preparation skills


• Experience painting walls, ceilings, doors, trim, casing, baseboards, and other detailed finishes


• Experience with brushing, rolling, and spray application


• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship


• Ability to identify and correct imperfections before final finishing


• Experience completing touch-ups, deficiencies, and warranty repairs


• Comfortable completing minor drywall repairs and patching


• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently


• Reliable, punctual, organized, and accountable


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Comfortable working on multiple projects and moving between job sites as required


• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation


• Access to standard painting tools required for the role


• Experience working in high-end residential renovations is considered an asset
