Retail Cashier

Our Rona team is seeking a Retail Cashier for its Arnprior location. The successful candidate will be a self-directed and motivated collaborator who can work independently.

Title: Retail Cashier 

Reports to:

Dept. Head - Cash

Job Type:  Part-time up to 35 hours with a possibility of becoming full-time, permanent, union

Schedule:  Monday to Friday

Specific Accountabilities

• Work in an environment whereby the employee is involved in and committed to the success of the organization, and which contributes to the health, safety, and environment in an accident-free workplace.


• Greet and engage with customers in a courteous manner.


• Process transactions precisely and accurately.


• Keep all checkout workstations clean and uncluttered.


• Create and balance the cash report at the end of each shift.


• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly.

Skills and Knowledge 

• Excellent customer service skills.


• Ability to resolve a variety of issues quickly and efficiently.


• Attention to detail.


• Comfortable working on your feet for long periods and occasionally working outdoors.


• Experience with cash register systems an asset.


• Commitment to high standards of procedural safety and regulatory compliance.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Experience in a retail environment, dealing with customers.
