Job Description - Rock Truck Operator

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Rock Truck Operator will execute the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the haul truck in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment’s operation. In this role, you will also conduct preventative plant maintenance after production for the day has been completed. Preventative maintenance may include, but not limited to roller, flashing, screen, oil changes, and washing equipment. 


 


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH 



  • Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.

  • Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment is properly maintained. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize the amount of downtime incurred during production.

  • Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines. Report and manage environmental spills to site management as they occur. Operate equipment effectively to minimize carbon footprint of machinery.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 
     


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent 
Required Work Experience: Industrial plant operation experience is an asset. Heavy equipment operations experience an asset. Valid “G” license
 
Additional Requirements:



  • Specific mobile equipment training

  • Working at confined spaces and heights      

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Computer literacy an asset    

  • Organizing Listening

  • Problem solving                                  

  • Process Management

  • Time Management and Priority setting

  • Written Communications

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
