What You’ll Do:

• Repair or replace roofing systems


• Detect leaks


• Clean and maintain equipment


• Repair, replace or install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions


• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level


• Install, repair or replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel


• Pour hot asphalt and tar


• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools


• Set-up scaffolding
  
  

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Hand-eye co-ordination, physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads; Large workload, Repetitive tasks, overtime required, work under pressure, fast-paced environment.

Area of specialization:
Conventional and inverted built-up system, modified roofing system, rigid pre-formed roofing system, single ply sheet membrane roofing system.

Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty, Dangerous, Outdoors

Work Setting: Commercial, industrial

Job Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial flat roofing
