About Open Ocean Robotics 

Operating on the ocean around the world from Victoria BC, Open Ocean Robotics (OOR) is a growing startup transforming how we understand our oceans through better data. We are leaders in solar-powered Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs) that voyage inhospitable ocean environments autonomously for extended missions. Core Responsibilities 

• Manage accounts and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) using tools like Monday.com.  
• Support sales, service, and program teams to drive global business growth in the new blue economy. 
• Prepare proposals, quotations, and contribute to the entire sales administration process. 
• Apply academic knowledge in business and management to real-world scenarios. 
• Develop new prospects and manage the sales cycle in collaboration with sales and service teams. 
• Participate in on-the-job learning, technical training, and leadership activities. 
• Support marketing activities including website management, social media, and content design. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Enrolled in and completed 2+ years of a business degree with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Sales, or Marketing at a recognized post-secondary institution. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining scientific and technical information clearly. 
• Self-initiated attitude with proven leadership skills and a history of professionalized extracurricular commitments. 
• Adaptable and enthusiastic about a startup company environment  
• Passionate about advancing innovative technology and making an impact 
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities. 
• On-water experience with small vessels and boating 
• Capable at using a range of software tools including slack, word, powerpoint, canva, wix, Monday CRM. 

Skills & Qualifications – Not required but an asset   

• Familiarity with engineering and software development 

This is a 4-month co-op position located in Victoria, BC, with required on-site work in our offices. This position will require meeting specific Government Grant requirements for Co-ops. Open Ocean Robotics does not sponsor work visas.
