Rome Transportation is looking for motivated, outgoing, and ambitious individuals to join our Sales team in Kitchener as a Sales Development Representative.

This role is designed for people who are new to professional sales and ready to learn. Whether you're graduating from college or university, coming from customer service or hospitality, or simply looking to start a career in B2B sales, we'll teach you the industry and help you develop the skills you need to succeed.

You'll learn how to prospect, connect with businesses, build relationships, understand customer needs, and develop your own book of business — while working alongside an experienced Sales and Operations team.

No logistics experience. No previous B2B sales experience. No existing book of business required.

You bring the drive, confidence, and willingness to learn. We'll help with the rest.

What You'll Do

As a Sales Development Representative, you'll develop the fundamentals of B2B sales while gaining hands-on experience with the full sales process.

You'll:

• Learn to prospect, qualify opportunities and develop new customer relationships, with the goal of building and managing your own book of business as you progress.


• Develop confidence with outbound calling, email, networking, and other sales strategies


• Learn how to connect with decision-makers and start meaningful business conversations


• Build and maintain an active sales pipeline


• Develop an understanding of your customers' businesses and transportation needs


• Learn how to quote and present transportation solutions


• Work closely with our Operations team to coordinate and execute shipments


• Develop negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills


• Work toward individual sales and revenue goals as your experience grows


• Develop a strong understanding of the transportation and logistics industry

Recent college and university graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, athletics, fundraising, recruitment, or other people-focused environments can be an asset, but previous professional sales or logistics experience is not required.

Compensation & Earning Potential

You'll start with a $50,000 base salary plus uncapped commission, giving you the stability of a guaranteed salary while you learn the business and develop your sales skills.

As you gain experience, build your book of business, and reach performance milestones, you'll have the opportunity to increase your earnings through commission.

There is no ceiling on commission, meaning your earning potential can continue to grow alongside your performance.
