Job Description - SAP Organizational Change Management Consultant

We have an excellent 6 months contract opportunity for a Senior SAP Change Management Consultant in Toronto. This is a hybrid role (Onsite 2 days and 3 days remotely).

Must haves:

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the practical application of change management methods and strategy combined with a solid understanding of how people go through change and the overall change process.
  • Minimum 8+ years with facilitation and coaching with strong communication skills, combined with conflict resolution, specifically with the senior and executive level communication.
  • PROSCI or equivalent certificate program in Change Management.

Role (Specialist Type) / Service: Organizational Change Management Consultant (Communications/Training)

Anticipated Duration (weeks): 26 weeks

1.0 Description of Assignment

The client is currently modernizing its business processes through business transformation enabled by SAP technology.

The SAP program has projects in the area of Finance, Human Resources, Enterprise Time Management, Integration with Enterprise Asset Management, Procurement and other lines of business.

In order to ensure user adoption is successful, a strong Change Management Strategy, plan and execution is required to focus in the areas of roles changes, partnership with impacted departments and training of the new business process and system navigation

A Senior Organizational Change Management Lead is required to enable this delivery to ease the organization through the transition with the new processes and to ensure adoption is successful

This resource will be required to work onsite 2 days and 3 days remotely.

2.0 Skills and Certifications

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the practical application of change management methods and strategy combined with a solid understanding of how people go through change and the overall change process
  • Minimum 8+ years with facilitation and coaching with strong communication skills, combined with conflict resolution, specifically with the senior and executive level communication
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, and negotiate and influence within a collaborative framework
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders for the purpose of meeting corporate objectives
  • Solid experience in change related practices e.g., communications planning and delivery, training design and facilitation, and change champion network management
  • Self-directed, and confident in ability to lead a complex organizational change management project
  • Team player with the ability to work with and through others
  • Sound judgment; excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, active listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Must have, or rapidly acquire, a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees

Formal education/training:

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Business Administration
  • PROSCI or equivalent certificate program in Change Management
3.0 Assignment Duties

The Organizational Change Management Consultant will be responsible for the following:

    • Develop change management strategy (including strategic plan, stakeholder impact assessment, stakeholder-specific engagement plans, change champion network, etc.) and present in a logical and easy-to-understand manner to the executive, director/head, manager and supervisor levels
    • Collaboration with Vendors delivery business transformation business processes
    • Identifies and use surveys to analyze and identify potential people-related risks and resistance areas (including individual and group skill and behavior gaps)
    • Provides consultation and presents to Project Sponsors the overall change management strategy and plan
    • Develops a set of targeted and actionable change management plans (i.e., communication plan, training plan, coaching plan, sponsor roadmap, training plan (soft skills), resistance management plan, change champion network plan) to address and mitigate identified concerns
    • Defines success metrics and milestones, measures and monitors change progress, and develops and establishes change sustainment plans
    • Oversees all change-related reviews and approval cycles) and ensures change management initiatives are consistent with internal standards, standard operating procedures, corporate policies and applicable legislation
    • Collaborates with the TTC Corporate Communications unit for use of existing corporate communication channels
    • Designs, writes, and delivers (and/or supports delivery of) stakeholder-relevant communications materials
    • Designs and delivers change management/leadership workshops/interviews/training with various levels of staff related to change initiatives
    • Facilitates change management task force/work stream meetings and/or core change management team’s efforts, and assists with defining project goals, timelines, coordination, and alignment of activities led by different stakeholders and addressing stressor points in the plans
    • Leads CM project management (e.g., tracking milestones, status reporting, change team communications, meeting agendas and actions, relationship management, etc.), and ensures all CM deliverables are within the allotted program budget and schedule
    • Creates space for open communication and collaboration across stakeholders to improve performance and productivity, and manages key stakeholder expectations, concerns, and work to mitigate risks and issues
    • Follows up, as required, with any problems and ensures implementation of actionable solutions
    • Oversight to the overall change implications and leads the way to support leaders to drive the changes into the actual overall project plan, and provides advice, support, and guidance to project team and other stakeholders as required
    • Responsible for treating stakeholders with respect and dignity and ensuring their needs are accommodated and/or addressed (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service provider and an employer
    • Escalates issues that will impede delivery of the approved change management plan to the project manager to clear obstacles/roadblocks
    • Perform related project duties as assigned

    • Organization and Job Design/Alignment
    • Communications Plan using TTC channels
    • Partner with Business team to understand impacts
    • Conduct Business Change Forums/Education Sessions
    • Collaborate with Training Team to deliver Process and Role Education
    • Organizational Change Management training to project team and key stakeholders
    • Other deliverables as required
