SAP Project Manager

Job Summary

The SAP Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of SAP projects, ensuring successful implementation from planning through closure. This role provides direction to cross-functional teams, manages project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder expectations, and helps ensure delivery aligns with Syntax standards and client objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong SAP project leadership experience, a consultative approach, and the ability to drive accountability across complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall management of SAP projects throughout the implementation lifecycle.


• Define, plan, track, and manage project scope, schedule, resources, budget, and deliverables.


• Provide direction to cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and quality standards.


• Manage stakeholder relationships, including internal teams and external clients, to maintain alignment and transparency.


• Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and key decisions clearly and proactively.


• Identify changes in scope and ensure appropriate planning, approvals, and updates to budget and timelines.


• Manage financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, and actual-to-estimate variance analysis.


• Identify project risks, establish contingency plans, and coordinate mitigation actions as needed.


• Escalate issues early and appropriately to support timely resolution.


• Ensure adherence to project management methodology, governance practices, and delivery standards.


• Coach team members and reinforce accountability, collaboration, and high performance.


• Lead project closure activities, including final sign-off and successful completion for all parties.


• Support stakeholder satisfaction and help position successful projects for referenceability and future opportunities.


• Capture and communicate lessons learned to strengthen continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of project management experience in SAP environments.


• Minimum of 5 full life cycle SAP project implementations completed.


• 5+ years of client management experience.


• Hands-on functional experience in at least one SAP module.


• Proven ability to manage complex project plans, teams, risks, issues, and budgets.


• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.


• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a consulting or client-facing environment.


• Must be authorized to work in Canada; sponsorship is not provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Consulting experience is considered a strong asset.


• Experience as a functional consultant is an asset.


• PMP certification is an asset.


• MBA is preferred.


• Experience in enterprise delivery environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.


• An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.


• MBA preferred.


• PMP certification considered an asset.


• Additional SAP-related certifications are an asset.
