Screw Machine Operator II- Day Shift

Quanex is looking for a Screw Machine Operator II in Brampton, ON. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of multi or single spindle screw machines, ensuring efficient and accurate production based on technical specifications. Performs more complex tooling adjustments, regrinding, and minor repairs compared to Operator Level I.

Rotating Schedule: 

Week 1: Monday-Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm; Friday 6:30am-3:00pm

Week 2: Monday-Thursday 6:30am-4:00pm

What Success Looks Like:

• Set up and operate one or more multi spindle or single spindle screw machines.


• Regrind and adjust forms.


• Regrind and adjust drills and reamers.


• Replace and adjust knee turners.


• Regrind and adjust shave tool.


• Regrind and adjust recess tools.


• Monitor settings and outputs, installation of tools, taps, collets, bushings and stock pushers.


• Periodically inspect parts coming off the screw machines with blueprint specifications


• Maintain proper lubrication and clean machine as time permits.


• Maintain accurate production records.


• Notify supervisor of major operating problems.


• Promotes teamwork by cooperating and supporting co-workers.

What You Bring:

• High School or equivalent education, required.


• At least 3 years of experience operating multi spindle or single spindle screw machines.


• At least 2 years of experience operating mills, lathes, surface grinders.


• Ability to read prints and measuring instruments.


• Must be able to read shop orders, blueprints and interpret engineering drawings, and all associated documents.


• Bringing a positive attitude and team-oriented mentality.

Salary Range: $25.00/hr to $30.00/hr based on experience.
