We’re seeking a Seasonal Sous Chef to join us this summer at The Maple Leaf! Mountain view dining, local hospitality and excellent food in the heart of downtown Banff. The Maple Leaf is an iconic landmark serving brunch, lunch & dinner daily. We celebrate the best of Canadian cuisine with a menu inspired by the diverse ingredients found throughout Canada. What You’ll Do:
Support the Chef in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences
Help lead and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive, efficient work environment
Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiency
Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency, quality, presentation, and standards are met
Ensure stations are properly stocked and ready for events
Manage inventory, ordering, and record-keeping while minimizing waste
Assist with food and supply ordering to meet operational needs, on time and within budget
Assist with training, coaching, and developing kitchen team members
Act as an ambassador for BHC by helping identify and hire great culinary talent
What You Have:
5 years culinary experience with a minimum of 2 of those years in a supervisory kitchen role
Food Safety and WHMIS certification required (we can help you get certified if needed)
Knowledge of kitchen training best practices and standard operating procedures
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying calm under pressure
Strong leadership and teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
