Securitas Canada is looking for professional and reliable Security Guards to join our team across a variety of client sites throughout the Mississauga, Milton, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Downtown Toronto, Halton Hills, Scarborough, Markham, Newmarket areas. We have partnered with the YMCA Greater Toronto for their hiring event!

Our Security Guards can work in a range of environments, including:

• Corporate and Office Buildings
• Logistics and Warehousing
• Data Centres/Mission Critical Facility
• Retail/Loss Prevention Security
• Government Site Security
• Mall and Outlet Security
• Bank Protection
• Other client locations that require professional security services

What You Will Do: 

Pay rates range from $18.35/hr to $26.78/hr for security guards and $30.00/hr-$34.00/hr for security supervisors, depending on the assignment, location, experience, licensing requirements, government clearance requirements, and site responsibilities.

• Monitor and patrol the assigned property
• Control access to the site and verify visitors, employees, contractors, and deliveries
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with site procedures
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections
• Enforce client and site-specific security policies
• Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, students, contractors, and members of the public
• Maintain a visible security presence
• Contact emergency services when required
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned

What We Need from You: 

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Strong observation and attention to detail
• Ability to complete written reports accurately
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Previous security experience is an asset, but qualified candidates with a strong customer-service background are encouraged to apply for more experienced roles.
• Priority will be given to candidates with OPEN availability for days, afternoons, nights and weekend shifts.

Government Site Security

• Perimeter and site patrols
• Access control for workers, contractors, and visitors
• Monitoring equipment and materials
• Monitor inbound and outbound traffic. 
• Trespasser deterrence including gatehouse duties.
• Overnight and weekend security coverage
• Incident prevention and reporting

Bank Protection Security

• Perimeter inspections and checks. Standing inside or outside bank entrance for long periods.
• Access control for members of the public and client employees.
• Respond to aggressive individuals and de-escalate.
• Monitoring equipment and materials within the bank.
• Monitor members of the public and enforce bank policies and procedures. 
• Trespasser deterrence
