Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Camera Technician to join our network of independent contractors. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for providing installation, maintenance, and servicing of security cameras and related equipment on a project-by-project basis. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong technical proficiency, and a customer-centric approach to ensure the effective deployment and functionality of surveillance systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide installation, configuration, and calibration services for security cameras, including both fixed mounted wall cameras and mobile cameras on security trailers, as well as associated peripherals according to specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess the layout and requirements for camera placement and coverage, taking into account both stationary and mobile surveillance needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with existing surveillance systems, including camera malfunctions, wiring problems, and network connectivity issues, for both fixed and mobile setups.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of security cameras and equipment, including those installed on security trailers.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate camera solutions to meet their requirements, whether for permanent installations or temporary deployments.
  • Provide training and support to clients on the use and operation of security camera systems, including both stationary and mobile setups.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in surveillance technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements to existing systems as needed for both fixed and mobile applications.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an independent contractor in the installation and servicing of security cameras and surveillance systems, including both fixed mounted wall cameras and mobile cameras on security trailers.
  • Proficiency in the setup and configuration of IP cameras, analog cameras, and video management software for both stationary and mobile surveillance applications.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS, applicable to both fixed and mobile setups.
  • Familiarity with power tools and equipment used for mounting and installing cameras, including specialized equipment for mobile deployments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently in both stationary and mobile environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship for both fixed and mobile installations.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and coordinate project timelines for both stationary and mobile deployments.
