Security Guard (Overnight) - Toronto

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

This posting is for an upcoming vacancy starting from 1 April, 2026.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required


• Monitoring of CCTV equipment, Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients


• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment


• Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels


• Providing assistance to employees, clients and visitors


• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor
  

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• *Mandatory* - Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.


• *Mandatory*– Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate


• *Mandatory* – Must be able to obtain a Level II (Secret) Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)


• Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time..
  


• Ability to climb and descend multiple flights of stairs at one time

• Start Date: 1 April, 2026


• Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.56 per hour


• Hours of work: Mondays 0000-0830 ,Tues-Fri 0100-0830


• Location: 120 Adelaide St W, Toronto


• No parking on-site. Accessible by TTC
