Your Impact

As a Security Guard at Seneca’s York Campus, you’ll be a trusted presence for students living and learning away from home. Whether responding to emergencies, providing guidance, or simply being a friendly face on campus, your role is vital to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols throughout academic buildings, residences, and student areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and medical emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, visitors, and faculty.
• Monitor access, enforce campus policies, and assist with crowd control during events.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and assist with investigations.
• Collaborate with Toronto Police, Fire, EMS, and other campus partners as needed.

Qualifications (Must Have)

• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid/CPR – Level C certification (from WSIB-approved provider)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus environments
• Professional, positive, and customer-service-oriented demeanor
• Must not be a current Seneca student at York

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Previous post-secondary or healthcare security experience
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
• Familiarity with campus patrol, access control, and crowd management
• Experience writing incident reports and supporting investigations
