Security Guard – Full Time

Location: UHN West Park, Toronto, ON, Canada
Pay: $19.19/hour
Schedule: Continental Rotation (0800–2000 / 2000–0800)

Position Overview

As a Full-Time Security Guard at UHN West Park, you will play a critical role in protecting patients, visitors, and hospital staff. You’ll patrol the premises, monitor security systems, respond to emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment in accordance with hospital safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular rounds of the hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, entrances, and exits.
• Operate security cameras and alarm systems; report suspicious activity immediately.
• Monitor and control entry to restricted areas.
• Respond quickly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, or security threats.
• Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, ensuring adherence to hospital policies.
• De-escalate conflicts and handle incidents professionally.
• Document daily activities and prepare incident reports.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement.

• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (WSIB-approved).
• COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) and immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TB test).
• N95 mask fit certification.
• English fluency (oral and written).
• Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB — or willingness to complete Paladin’s paid training program (with a 6-month commitment).
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
