Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

POSITION SUMMARY

Job type:  Security/Access Control

Reports to: Site Supervisor/Regional Manager

Anticipated start date: ASAP

Posting Close Date: Until filled

Hourly Rate of Pay:  CPID #DND288  $26.43/hr (NMSO CM level 1 Use of Force Level III)

Hours of work: 0700-1800 (11 Hours)

Shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Location: 5 Yukon Lane, Toronto, Ontario

Accessible by Transit: Yes

Uniform: White Shirt, Cargo pants, Use of Force Equipment, Safety footwear (CM)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required


• Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients


• Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment


• Providing assistance to employees, clients and visitors


• Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary


• Conduct walking patrols of the property as needed


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor


• Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time


• Must have a Level I (Reliability Clearance)


• Must have a Vulnerable Sector Check


• Must be able to pass the CGL Use of Force Level III class


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience:

• *Mandatory* - Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.


• *Mandatory*– Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate


• *Mandatory*- Be able to obtain a Level I (Reliability) Clearance - minimum 5 Years of Residency in Canada
  


• Must have a Vulnerable Sector Check


• Must be able to complete CGL’s Use of Force Level II Class
  


• The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols


• Good understanding of computers


• Customer service/reception/administrative skills


• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
