About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable Full-Time Security Guard to join our team at the Cobequid Pass Rest Area (209 NS-104, Londonderry, NS). This vital site supports thousands of daily travelers and is a key part of Nova Scotia's infrastructure. If you take pride in protecting people and property, we want to meet you!

Schedule & Pay

• Hourly Rate: $20.63/hour
• Schedule: 4-on / 4-off rotation of 12-hour shifts (day & night)
• Overtime: After 48 hours/week
• Status: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the site by foot or vehicle to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access
• Enforce rules, control access points, and de-escalate situations with professionalism
• Respond to emergencies, including intoxication, aggression, or medical incidents
• Provide exceptional customer service to the public
• Communicate via two-way radio and write detailed reports on incidents and daily activity

• Resident of Nova Scotia
• At least 19 years of age
• Currently lives in Truro or nearby area
• Owns a reliable personal vehicle and valid Driver’s License
• Valid Nova Scotia Security License (or eligible to obtain)
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification (CSA-approved provider)
• Comfortable with physical duties: standing, walking, sitting for extended periods
• English fluency (written and spoken)
• Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB Certification — or willingness to complete company-sponsored training prior to nboarding
• High School Diploma or GED
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
