Security Supervisor - Oakville

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services. 

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured


• Monitor CCTV equipment


• Conflict resolution


• Follow and uphold company policies during daily duties


• Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches and related safety and security topics.


• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients


• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment


• Respond to alarms and utilization of alarm panels


• Schedule guards and coordinate backfill coverage to ensure all shifts are fully staffed


• Document Incidents - Ensure all incidents are properly documented and reported in a timely and accurate manner


• Coordinating with Operations for any ad-hoc services


• Maintain effective communication via radio, telephone and email

• Regular interior and exterior foot patrols


• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma


• *MUST* Valid Ontario Security Guard License


• *MUST* Valid First Aid and CPR certificate


• The Vulnerable Sector Check must be completed and submitted prior to the start date.
  


• Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs
  


• The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols


• The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential


• Must have strong understanding of computers 


• Must have strong customer service/administrative skills

• Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.05


• Hours of work: Continental Shift 0600 to 1800 hrs 


• Location: 540 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville
