This is a unique opportunity that is directly responsible for measuring and reporting how well AIMCo ensures the prosperity, security, and opportunity for hundreds of thousands of Albertans.
The Investment Performance, Analytics and Reporting (IPAR) team provides independent, insightful, accurate and timely investment performance analytics and attribution information for AIMCo’s clients, Total AIMCo, including all pools, and individual strategies. The IPAR team is closely integrated with external and internal clients to better understand investment strategies and provide them with insights that bring them closer to their investment performance goals. The Reporting group within the IPAR team is responsible for all external client and consultant reporting, providing AIMCo’s clients a comprehensive view of their investments.
As a Senior Analyst, focusing on Reporting on AIMCo’s Investment Performance, Analytics & Reporting team, you, along with the rest of the team, will be responsible for gathering investment data and commentary from across the organization and producing monthly, quarterly, and adhoc client reports. You will also bring fresh ideas of reporting trends from the industry and be involved in continuous improvement of reporting content.

In the first 6 months, with the support of your team, you will understand AIMCo’s investment pools and client reports. You will be able to produce error-free monthly and quarterly reports y and assist with commentary writing for some sections of the reports. You will take part in training on investment performance and attribution. You will make meaningful enhancements to our report content and processes
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business or related field such as mathematics, computer science with a finance component.
- 4+ years of experience in pension, investment management, or investment reporting is a strong asset.
- Indepth knowledge of institutional investments, portfolio management, pension and endowment financing is advantageous.
- Demonstrates a clear ability to analyze, interpret and articulate financial data.
- Advanced experience developing high-quality, cutting-edge client reporting materials.
- Superior problem-solving skills, exceptional initiative and thrives under pressure and deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Word is desirable.
- Strong relationship building, communication, and writing skills. Proven attention to detail and eye for accuracy.
- Ability to translate investment data information into meaning client commentary is desirable.
- Investment-related designations such as CFA, FRM, CIPM, CAIA etc. is desirable
- Professional exposure to SQL querying is desirable.
- Investment knowledge and experience with SQL, Python and Power BI tools is desirable.
