This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
The Role:
Under the supervision of the Manager, the Senior Analyst is responsible for providing a high degree of expertise and guidance to Marketing and Communications - Scheduling in the implementation of customized analyses and reports, supporting the Manager with the condition of license compliance and analysis for English (TV, Kids, GEM, Documentary Channel, News Network, News FAST & Entertainment FAST Channels) and English/French Radio and Audio services (including CBC Music, Radio One, ICI Musique, and ICI Première). Perform acceptance testing for system bugs, enhancements, new functionality and software upgrades. Participate in Marketing and Communications - Scheduling on special projects that impact On-Air, Avatega, Amagi, Cognos, VML 2.0, WideOrbit, RCS/Gselector, Business Warehouse and related reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting rigorous user acceptance testing (UAT) across all system modifications including critical bug fixes, functional enhancements, new features, and major software upgrades to ensure quality standards and provide management with the necessary data for informed deployment decisions.
Work with the IT group to resolve problems and issues associated with Marketing and Communications - Scheduling system modules.
Support the Marketing and Communications - Scheduling on special projects that impact On-Air, Business Warehouse and related reporting requirements.
Assist the Manager with tracking the audio royalty payments to our external partners. (SOCAN, Re-Sound, Connect, CMRRA).
Assist the Manager to prepare & track reports for the various departments (ie: Regulatory Affairs, BMS, Finance, PMG, CPO Finance, CBCNN Finance, Documentary, B&R, Kids, Digital, Media Sales, Research, News & Current Affairs, Entertainment)
Track and analysis reporting as relevant to Marketing and Communications – Scheduling to ensure the Conditions of License are being met.
Assist the Manager with developing and testing reports for various departments.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
The job requires five years of relevant experience in a related field, preferably broadcast environment.
Strong quantitative analytical skills and the ability to interpret and manipulate all forms of available statistical and other data into meaningful reports;
In-depth expertise, training, experience and knowledge of Cognos Business Warehouse, WideOrbit, Amagi, Avatega, and On-Air and also with various software packages in delivering reports and projects with illustrative graphs and tables.
Working knowledge and a solid background of database management, client/server and database application programming, hardware and software acquisition.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Comfortable presenting data analysis in formal and informal settings
Handle multiple priorities and quick decision-making skills under pressure with ease.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently, taking initiative when required.
Ability to work beyond normal office hours as project dictates
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to keep up with developments in IT and continually learn new skills and technical knowledge
