DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for all areas of accounting at Spa Dent Inc., including financial reporting, developing and maintaining accounting procedures, practices and principles to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This position requires full cycle accounting and financial analysis experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responding to inquiries from the CEO, other management, vendors and customers
- Monitoring and analyzing the accounting department to develop efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Supervise and train accounting staff
- Support forecasting and budgeting activities
- Year-End preparation and financial reporting
- Generate and analyze financial reports – income statements, balance sheets and cashflow statements
- Account reconciliation – regular reconciliation of bank statements, credit card statements and other financial records
- Payroll Processing – ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings
- Accounts payable and receivable – review invoices, payments and collections
- Manage intercompany transactions
- notify and report to senior management concerning any trends critical to organization’s performance.
- Develop and maintain cost and profit estimates for new and existing product lines and generate monthly cost reports and trends, make suggestions for improvements
- Ensure that statutory financial obligations including audit, tax and other Government filings are completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain high standards of data accuracy and completeness, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and error-free.
- Supporting, developing and participating in company-wide goals and initiatives
- Working with external accountants and consultants
- Available for other assignments as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in business administration, accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Experience in manufacturing sector an asset
- Ability to support HR function an asset
- Highly proficient in Excel, Quickbooks and ERP systems
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle bookkeeping
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects within set timelines
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Proven problem solving skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
