Job Description - Senior Bookkeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We take care of the entire accounting function so that the founder can focus on what they do best.

Who are we looking for?

An energetic, motivated individual to work with the leadership team as the Senior Bookkeeper. We require someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of attention to detail, and an ability to multi-task. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as apart of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of company financial records through the completion of the month-end and quarter-end close process.

• Maintain, monitor, and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads (as per client needs).

• Calculate and prepare Payroll.

• Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.

• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with management to develop resolutions.

• Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments, and installments.

• Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and team members.

• Be the key point of contact for day-to-day accounting matters.

• Other duties as required by management.

Skills and Experience

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.

• Attention to detail, monitor and check work and information.

• Organized and able to multitask.

• Goodwith MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

• Experience working with QBO.

• Honest, trustworthy, dedicated.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years experience of full cycle bookkeeping experience.

• Accounting or Bookkeeping diploma or several years of experience in this role. Greater than 5 years is an asset but not a requirement.

• Legally eligibleto work in Canada.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours a week)

Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
