Job Description - Senior Caseworker


This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Caseworker based in Canada.


This role sits at the center of patient support and healthcare access coordination, ensuring individuals receive the financial and administrative assistance needed to access prescribed therapies. You will manage complex patient cases, working closely with insurers, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and other stakeholders to resolve reimbursement and coverage challenges. The position involves guiding patients through funding programs, special authorizations, and appeals while maintaining a high standard of empathy and accuracy. You will also act as a senior resource within the team, supporting colleagues with complex cases and contributing to training and process improvement initiatives. The environment is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. This is a meaningful role for professionals who want to directly improve patient access to care.


Accountabilities


In this role, you will manage complex patient cases while ensuring effective reimbursement support and high-quality service delivery across patient programs:



  • Manage a large caseload of patients requiring reimbursement, insurance, and funding support

  • Investigate and coordinate coverage options for insured and uninsured patients across various funding programs

  • Liaise with insurance providers, healthcare professionals, physicians, and pharmacies to resolve complex cases

  • Support benefit investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, and reimbursement processes

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior caseworkers and support staff

  • Assist with training activities, call monitoring, and onboarding of new team members

  • Document all case activities accurately within program-specific systems and databases

  • Ensure adherence to case management protocols, including compliance monitoring and adverse event reporting

  • Participate in special projects, reporting activities, and process improvement initiatives


Requirements


The ideal candidate brings strong experience in patient support or healthcare-related case management, with excellent organizational and communication skills:



  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance, or patient support programs

  • Experience in a call center or high-volume service environment considered an asset

  • University degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and spoken) considered a strong asset

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong phone etiquette

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Experience working with patient support programs and reimbursement processes is highly valued

  • Demonstrated leadership, reliability, and ability to support and guide others
