About The Role
The role provides analytical and strategic support to expert testifiers, counsel and clients in litigation and other disputes in antitrust, intellectual property, international arbitration, and other areas.
The Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice helps clients, who are facing legal disputes, protect enterprise value by quantifying damages and providing expert testimony in a range of dispute situations: antitrust claims, intellectual property, lost profits, valuations, breach of contract, purchase price disagreements, shareholder disputes, and business interruption. In addition, the practice conducts business valuation engagements in non-litigious environments.
The Senior Consultant will assist team leaders in advisory services in the context of fast-moving litigation and alternate dispute resolution matters across a wide range of industries. Responsibilities include providing financial statement and valuation analysis, industry and economic research and critical assistance on specific valuation related projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong analytic and quantitative skills, including economic modeling and/or damages analysis
Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets
Solid communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to clients and staff within and outside of the firm

What You’ll Do
Perform day-to-day activities in support of valuation consulting projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
Performs technical, industry, and company research utilizing economic, financial, statistical and data science tools, other online tools and publicly available information including economic and financial data sets, executes economic, financial, statistical and other relevant valuation analyses to assess complex economic and financial questions, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.
Applies accounting, financial, valuation, economic, statistical and other analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of complex cash flow projections and valuation models, and perform in-depth industry and economic research.
Maintains detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.
Delivers a high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets.
Prepares written analyses, as necessary, on the project scope and/or results of activities. Prepares presentations and quantitative exhibits for third parties on the project scope and findings.

What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, economics or equivalent field.
3+ years of relevant post-undergraduate full-time work experience in finance, accounting, valuation or business analyst experience.
Experience in the valuation of businesses, intangible assets, and other discreet assets and liabilities.
Experience in a quantification of economic losses in the context of disputes.
Strong valuation based analytical modeling, technical accounting, cash flow modeling and finance skills.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis; FTI Consulting will not sponsor applicants work visas.
Located in Toronto and travel to FTI offices and client(s)
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CVA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation.
Accredited, or commenced study, in relevant business valuation credentialling programs, such as the CBV, ABV, or ASA.
At least 3+ years litigation and disputes experience preferred.
Advanced analytical and issue resolution intelligence, problem solving is essential.
Experience in preparing analyses for and drafting of expert reports.
Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs.
Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget.
Prior experience managing teams and the developing of others.
Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel.
Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $98,500
Maximum Pay: $121,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
