Job Description - Senior Desktop Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Desktop Analyst to join our team and provide top-tier support for our desktop infrastructure. Salary Range: $73,372 to $88,660 per annum


Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or a related discipline.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with business analysis and system requirements processes.
  • Experience with technologies such as: Microsoft Intune (including but not limited to Windows Autopilot, streamlining device provisioning, deployment processes and ensuring compliance), Microsoft Defender (high level), Office 365 Applications, Azure Active Directory, SCCM, LAPS, Apple IOS, Android OS, Windows and Apple Operating Systems, Bitlocker, Networking concepts, PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong understanding of digital workplace technologies (hardware, software, services and SaaS tools).
  • Working knowledge of managing digital workplace tools, configuration management, identity and access management, active directory, desktop virtualization, collaboration platforms and other cloud-based services.
  • Strong understanding of adjacent technologies (identity, security, endpoint management, vulnerability management, asset management, IT service management, analytics, etc.)
  • Experience with the user acceptance testing cycle.
  • Experience troubleshooting across the MS technology stack.
  • Experience implementing continuous engineering or other agile methods to keep pace with frequent changes and to reduce complexity.
  • Experience with standard IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of IT Services & Training, the Senior Desktop Analyst develops and enhances support methods, keeps up with methodologies and technologies in order to deliver superior support to the lines of business and participates and contributes in team projects that enhances the quality of Service Desk support.

In this role you will:

  • Define, implement, manage and continuously improve digital workplace technologies.
  • Participate in the planning, building and implementation of systems, upgrades and enhancements. Accountable for the maintaining and supporting of these systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Work with the Infrastructure and Application Services teams to ensure that the enterprise solutions are being supported and leveraged.
  • Oversee endpoint management and patching to ensure security and availability, while minimizing the potential impact on employee experience. Address security threats and system outages.
  • Plan, design and implement architecture for new features, initiatives or modules, meeting IT standards and guidelines.
  • Provide estimates of effort required for solution enhancement requests.
  • Identify any solution gaps and preparing/proposing options.
  • Working with project teams and business units to analyze business needs, then recommending and developing solutions to address their business challenges.
  • Documenting the results of the analysis in an appropriate format including business rules and workflow descriptions.
  • Working with the various stakeholders (Infrastructure Team, Application Team, Academic and Administrative Teams, other development teams) to ensure successful implementation; and responding to stakeholders' inquiries about system behaviors, investigating reported issues, and communicating system issues to stakeholders.
