About the Opportunity

GeoResource Ltd is working with an emerging copper-gold explorer-developer advancing a VMS project in Eastern Canada. The company is well funded, running an active exploration and drill programme, and moving the project through a period of resource growth and target expansion.

They are seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to lead and execute exploration programmes focused on copper- and gold-rich VMS systems. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who wants to run field programmes themselves rather than direct them from a desk, working closely with the VP Exploration and a small group of external consultants.

This role suits a geologist who knows VMS deposit models in detail, is confident designing and interpreting both ground and airborne geophysics, and can carry a target from first concept through to drill-tested. It is a senior seat with direct influence on exploration strategy at a company in an active growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

•     Design, manage and execute exploration programmes including geological mapping, sampling, geophysical surveys and drilling

•     Lead field programmes on a rotational basis and supervise geologists, technicians and drilling contractors

•     Integrate geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to generate and refine VMS exploration targets

•     Plan, supervise and interpret ground and airborne geophysical surveys

•     Oversee QAQC procedures across sampling, assay and data management

•     Lead by example on health, safety and environmental performance, ensuring all exploration activities comply with company policy, regulatory requirements and industry best practice

•     Prepare technical reports, internal memoranda and presentations for management and project partners

•     Contribute to exploration budgets, schedules and work programmes

•     Liaise with consultants, laboratories, regulators and local stakeholders as required

Qualifications & Experience

•     BSc in Geology or Earth Sciences; MSc preferred

•     8+ years of mineral exploration experience

•     Demonstrated drill programme management experience — non-negotiable

•     Strong understanding of VMS deposit models, particularly copper- and gold-rich systems — non-negotiable

•     Demonstrated track record in target generation and project advancement

•     Experience planning, supervising and interpreting ground and airborne geophysical surveys

•     Proficiency with industry-standard geological, modelling and GIS software, specifically Leapfrog and QGIS

•     Willingness to work a 2-week on / 2-week off rotation — non-negotiable

•     Valid driver’s licence

•     Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a small technical team

•     Practical, results-oriented approach with strong analytical and interpretive skills

•     Clear written and verbal communication, with a high standard of professionalism and attention to detail

•     Familiarity with NI 43-101 reporting standards is an asset

•     Professional registration with a Canadian provincial association is an asset
