Senior Financial Performance Specialist (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Performance Specialist to join our team. 

The Senior Financial Performance Specialist is responsible for the development, validation, analysis, and ongoing enhancement of Tru Cooperative Bank’s Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), profitability, return on capital, and capital management frameworks.  The role provides subject matter expertise and analytical leadership, delivering actionable insights through a multidimensional view of financial performance. This role works collaboratively with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Pricing, Product, and Strategy teams, and supports management decision-making through robust analysis, modelling, stakeholder consultation, and continuous improvement of financial frameworks and processes.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day 

1. Funds Transfer Pricing Methodology and Validation: Leads Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) analysis and validation activities, providing subject matter expertise and analytical support on FTP-related matters. Performs reviews of FTP calculations, curve construction, and actuals data to support the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of FTP rate assignments across products, portfolios, and business lines. Identifies opportunities for process improvements and provides recommendations to enhance FTP reporting and analytical capabilities.
2. Funds Transfer Pricing Analysis and Business Insights: Leads the analysis of Funds Transfer Pricing performance analytics through monthly origination, portfolio, and variance analysis.  Builds and maintains line of sight into regional performance, generating actionable insights and recommendations to support profitability management and strategic decision-making.
3. Profitability Analysis and Reporting: Performs multidimensional profitability analysis and reporting across products, portfolios, lines of business, regions, and corporate views. Leverages Funds Transfer Pricing, return on capital metrics, and other performance measures to develop insights and recommendations that support financial performance monitoring and business planning activities.
4. Capital Forecasting and Management: Conducts regulatory capital forecasting and analysis, leveraging knowledge of OSFI BCAR guidelines, risk-weighted assets, capital components, and capital ratios. Develops reporting, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes.
5. Return on Capital Frameworks: Plays a critical role in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of return on capital frameworks and profitability metrics, including methodology, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder support, ensuring the effective application of performance measures to support capital allocation and profitability assessment.
6. Partnering & Collaboration: Builds and maintains effective partnerships across Finance, Treasury, Risk, Pricing, Product, and Strategy to support FTP, profitability, and capital management objectives through collaboration, analysis, and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or in a related field required
• CFA or CPA required, or working towards completion
• 5 years’ experience in an analytical finance role within a service-oriented financial services organization is preferable, along with demonstrated proficiency in complex financial analysis, funds transfer pricing, and problem solving required
• Self starter, able to proactively apply knowledge and experience to develop and conduct appropriate analysis and development needed with minimal supervision.
• Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the role.
• Able to use knowledge and experience to advise on best practices for analytical work required to fulfill accountabilities of the role.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective documentation, procedures, and work practices that support accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful insights and trends.
• Ability to operate in a team environment with a focus on collaboration.
• Well-developed ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Finance theory, profitability analysis, and financial modeling.
• Deep understanding of Funds Transfer Pricing frameworks, methodologies, and analytical applications within a financial services environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data management skills, including experience in modelling, reporting, and developing practical tools that improve analysis and decision-making. 
• Deep knowledge of return on capital frameworks and profitability metrics, enabling informed capital allocation and performance management decisions.
• Experience with OSFI's BCAR framework, including the development and maintenance of capital forecasts and analysis of key capital drivers.
• Overnight travel may be occasionally required, up to 6 times per year
• Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
