This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Canada.
This is a high-impact engineering role within an early-stage, product-driven fintech SaaS environment focused on transforming the credit collections industry through modern software. You will help design and build scalable full-stack features that directly shape a platform powering complex financial workflows. The role is heavily backend-leaning while still requiring strong full-stack capability across modern web technologies. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and experienced engineers in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. This position offers significant autonomy, allowing you to influence architecture, product direction, and engineering practices. It is ideal for engineers who thrive in building systems from the ground up and enjoy solving complex, real-world problems with meaningful user and business impact.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of full-stack features, with a strong focus on backend systems and scalable architecture supporting a fintech SaaS platform.
- Build and maintain robust APIs, services, and data models using Python and Django, while contributing to frontend development using React-based technologies.
- Take end-to-end ownership of product features, from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Collaborate directly with founders and engineering leadership to refine product requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Improve and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across AWS environments.
- Enhance SDLC practices, CI/CD workflows, and engineering standards to improve development velocity and system quality.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python and 3+ years with Django in production environments.
- Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Redux preferred).
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and data modeling best practices.
- Proven experience working with AWS infrastructure and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform preferred).
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including system design, clean code practices, and performance optimization.
- Product-minded approach with the ability to make thoughtful UX and technical trade-offs.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first, high-ownership startup environment.
