As a Senior IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure and systems. You will lead technical projects, provide guidance to junior engineers, and ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our IT environment.

This role requires to be on-site a few times a month as well as on an as need basis.

Responsibilities:

System Architecture and Design:

• Lead the design and architecture of our IT systems, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization infrastructure.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing systems and propose strategic improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and resilience.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams, serving as a subject matter expert in IT systems and infrastructure.
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.

Infrastructure Deployment and Maintenance:

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement automation and orchestration solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Configure and maintain network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize network performance.

Project Management:

• Lead complex technical projects from initiation to completion, including planning, execution, and documentation.
• Define project requirements, milestones, and deliverables, and effectively communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:

• Act as the primary escalation point for the service desk team, resolving complex technical issues related to IT systems, infrastructure, and services.
• Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to prevent the recurrence of incidents.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3 years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on systems administration, infrastructure design, and project management.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex IT systems and infrastructure solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong technical proficiency in server administration (Win, Linux, Solaris), virtualization (HyperV, vmWare, Containers), networking, and storage technologies.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such particularly Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Azure, Racskpace, AWS and GCP
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA, ITIL, IBM, MCDST, BICSI are a plus.
