Job Description
As a Senior Institutional Investment Manager, you will be a key leader within the investment consulting team, driving growth and delivering high-quality advisory solutions to institutional clients. You will work with a diverse portfolio that includes:
Corporate and multi-employer pension plans
Endowments and foundations
Private counsel operations
Wealth management programs
In addition to client-facing responsibilities, you will help develop the team, foster innovation, and play an integral role within the Canadian Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert investment consulting and portfolio management solutions to institutional asset owners.
Lead client engagements, delivering tailored advisory strategies across asset allocation, risk management, performance attribution, and compliance.
Advise clients on investment manager selection, investment structuring, and market opportunities.
Drive business development initiatives, identifying growth opportunities in the Canadian investment marketplace.
Act as a mentor and leader, developing and managing team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
Contribute to the Canadian Leadership/Management Team, influencing strategy, innovation, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with the broader team to design and deliver investment products that align with client objectives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including OSC portfolio manager registration requirements.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
15+ years of experience in institutional investment advising/consulting with a strong focus on asset owners.
CFA designation or CIM designation.
Qualified experience for OSC Portfolio Manager Registration.
Extensive experience in the financial services industry with a deep understanding of investment markets, strategies, and risk management.
Proven leadership, with a track record of managing and developing teams.
High ethical and professional standards.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to independently interact with clients, investment managers, and the investor community.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex investment concepts.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with compliance, governance, or risk management processes.
A demonstrated background in wealth management or endowment and foundation consulting.
