FactFinder is the European leader in product discovery and search. Hundreds of eCommerce stores use our AI-powered technology to help create a great purchasing experience and improve their revenue.
We are looking for an experienced Lucene Developer to join our dynamic team and take ownership of search and indexing solutions within our product suite. Your primary focus will be designing and implementing scalable, high-performance search services using Apache Lucene, as well as contributing to a completely new product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other developers and product managers, to build high-quality, future-proof solutions.

Design, implement, and optimize efficient Lucene-based search and indexing solutions
Maintain, test, and debug search-related components
Identify areas for improvement in existing search functionality and develop enhancements
Architect Lucene for optimal performance and scalability
Work closely with other developers, and product managers to refine capabilities
Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to team growth
Create technical concepts components and services

At least 5 years of experience in commercial and object-oriented development
Strong expertise in Apache Lucene and search-related technologies (e.g., Solr, Elasticsearch)
Experience with Java (and knowledge of Python or .NET is a plus)
The ability to communicate complex search concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
Hands-on experience with cloud-based search infrastructure and service-oriented architectures
